Mac Drag-and-Drop App ‘Yoink’ Gains Continuity Camera Support and New Shelf Actions

Popular Mac drag-and-drop app Yoink received a substantial update on Monday, adding a number of new features, as well as many smaller improvements.

For those unfamiliar with the app, Yoink aims to simplify the action of dragging and dropping files and app-content on the macOS desktop by providing a temporary place for files to be dragged to. Yoink fades in when you start a drag – either with files from Finder or app-content, like an image from a website – offering you a temporary place for your dragged files.

Multiple Reviewers Facing Broken Galaxy Fold Devices After Just Days of Use

Samsung this week provided reviewers with Galaxy Fold devices for some hands-on time, and it appears the folding smartphone may be suffering from some serious flaws. Three of the reviewers who received a Galaxy Fold have already experienced failures, all of which focus on the display.

The Verge’s Dieter Bohn says that his Galaxy Fold device broke after a random bulge appeared on the display, perhaps from a piece of debris that had gotten into the hinge. The debris, or whatever the bulge was, pressed into the display hard enough to break it.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has sat down with CNBC’s David Faber to discuss a wide range of topics, including the company’s upcoming streaming service Disney+ and how that will impact his position on Apple’s board of directors.

Despite the fact that Disney+ will compete with Apple’s upcoming TV+ streaming service, Iger said the business of direct-to-consumer television or movies is “still very small” to Apple. At this point, Iger doesn’t believe the situation is “problematic,” but said it is one he will “continue to monitor.”

Citing reliable sources in the Chinese supply chain, the report claims that the two new iPhone models would come with 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays and the previously heavily rumored triple-lens camera system.

Skype Doubles Group Call Limit to 50, Overtakes FaceTime’s Max of 32

Skype has increased the number of users that can be on the same audio or video group call to 50, up from the previous maximum of 25.

The bump up to 50 means bigger team chats and larger conference calls with speakers can take place, while full classes of students can participate in group calls.

The change also means Microsoft’s Skype now beats Apple’s FaceTime for the number of users that take part in a group call. FaceTime supports a maximum of 32 people.

In addition, Microsoft has made some changes to how larger Skype group calls start. Users now receive…

Android Q Beta 2 features iOS-like multitasking gesture changes

Android Q Beta 2 landed just earlier today, and with it came a substantial set of changes to the gesture system originally introduced via Android Pie. The new gestures may not free up as much space as Apple’s since they still require a navigation bar, but they’re definitely iOS-like, allowing you to pull on the “pill” in any direction to switch apps (finally.)

Best Alternatives to Apple’s Now-Canceled AirPower

Apple on Friday made the unprecedented move of canceling work on the AirPower, the wireless charging mat that was supposed to charge the Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods all at once.

There are already a number of AirPower-like alternative products on the market, and we’re likely going to be seeing additional replacements in the future. None of these accessories do exactly what the AirPower promised because there are dedicated spots to charge each device, but each option will charge more than one device at one time.
